Wednesday 21st September 2011 Edinburgh University Volunteers
The Red Bus transported volunteers from the Edinburgh University Students' Association (EUSA) to various venues around the city. Torrential rain gave way to bright autumn sunshine as we entered Ferry Road.
Venues were: The Risk Factory, which trains children and young people to live safely in the capital; Fresh Start, a homeless charity in Pilton; and the Junction, which works with young adults in Leith on a range of health issues.

We were parked in the Meadows August 2010 for our first Fringe experience!
(This year we had a year off, but we'll be back in 2012.)
On the hour from 11am till 4pm we had 30 minute shows for children under 8 and their families on board the bus.
Our performers Mara menzies, Allison Galbraith, Marion Kenny, Fergus McNicol, Claire McNicol, Lea Taylor, Eric Brennan, Peter Snow, Daniel Allison, Francisca Morton and her assistants Rossella and Ishbel, Ken and Avril from Kid Gloves and Elena, Synnove and Sarah-Ann from Free Range brought awe and wonder and delight to hundreds of children with their wonderful shows on the top deck. Badge making from Gabriel and face painting from Sally outside, Nathan with his circus shows, the cafe community all made this a great event. Not forgetting all our friends we made around the bubble machine.

PUPPET SHOWS BY THE FREE RANGE PUPPETEERS ON THE RED BUS
A very special celebration of Spring took place on the top deck over the weekends of March 20th and April 23rd 2010 with a puppet show for children aged up to 7.
This unique production was the first puppet show ever performed on The Red Bus and was completely sold out. We drove passengers to fields just outside the city where The Free Range Puppeteers brought a wonderful story to their audience. After the show refreshments and home baking were served on tables beside the bus with lovely views over Edinburgh and beyond and children got a chance to run in the fields. The bus then set off on its return journey, reaching the starting point an hour and a half later.
From the comments book for this show:
"A treat for ALL the senses!"
"Such lovely, gentle entertainment. A perfect Saturday morning."
"Beautiful puppets, gentle and inviting presentation"
"The whole experience was lovely. We especially enjoyed the singing."
